“If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.” – Thoreau

I found this quote on a greeting card way back in 1987 and I’ve kept it a frame all these years.

It gave me encouragement back then when I had dreams of being a published writer and composer.

Today, as a coach and a published writer and composer, I understand how important it is to follow your dream, your passion…. whatever it is that tugs at your heart calling to be born – calling for YOU to give it life and make it happen.

It won’t go away no matter how hard you may try to ignore it or however many roadblocks may get in your way.

If you have a strong desire to do, be, or have something…. that’s like God knocking on the door of your heart and saying…. hey… this is why you’re here. This is part of your purpose – to make this dream a reality and share it with the world!

What is it that you really, really want? What do you day dream about but keep putting off till “someday”? What gifts and talents do you have that are tugging at your heart to be born?

Those longings are like “castles in the air” waiting for you to put the foundation under them.

Will you do it? If so, when?

What is one thing you could do right now, or before you go to bed tonight that would lay that first cornerstone in your dream’s foundation?

If you don’t take that first step toward making your dream a reality today… are you willing to spend another week, month, or year putting it off and putting a hold on being and doing what you came here to do?
